Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
