British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans offered condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
