Finally viewers can start: opening five minutes of Stranger Things' final season shared.
The final installment of the streaming giant's supernatural phenomenon the hit series is set to be among the most anticipated events of 2024. Part one airs on November 27, but a sneak peek of the spine-tingling initial moments has been shared online.
The Beginning: A Flashback to the 1980s
The segment, titled the opening chapter, transports viewers back to the beginning of the series in the year 1983, in the wake of the loss of Will Byers.
"What should I do—stay or go?" Will sings while attempting to stay collected in the Upside Down.
Things quickly become frightening when a demogorgon emerges and drags Will to the domain of the villain. "After all this time, it's time to commence," he says to the youth as shooting a tendril down his throat. "You and I, we shall create truly magnificent works together."
Release Schedule and Theater Showings
The second part of the final series is scheduled to premiere on the day after Christmas, and the series finale out on January 1 – and will also have screened in select theaters.
Story Outline
The synopsis states: "The season of that year. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and the main characters join forces by a shared mission: hunt down and destroy the foe. However he has disappeared – his location and intentions a mystery. Complicating the quest, authorities has placed Hawkins under armed isolation and stepped up the pursuit for the heroine, compelling her into seclusion. When the yearly mark of Will's disappearance looms, so does a profound, recognizable anxiety. The ultimate conflict is on the horizon – and with it, a malevolence more powerful and more lethal than anything else they have encountered before. To conclude this horror, they'll need all members – the full party – united, one last time."
Behind the Scenes
The unexpected preview was uploaded on the video platform after the series' LA debut a few days ago, which was attended by the stars such as one of the main stars and her co-star.
"The size of it is bigger … It features heightened thrills and more special effects, but it is additionally by far the most poignant series because it wraps up of the story for the entire cast," the series' co-creator, noted about the last chapters.
The co-producer and collaborator, added: "Launching it in the world is anxiety-inducing, but we are prepared to present it at last."
