Mohamed Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
