President Approves Measure to Disclose Additional Epstein Records Following Period of Pushback

The US leader stated on Wednesday night that he had endorsed the bill resoundingly approved by Congress members that mandates the Department of Justice to disclose more documents related to the convicted sex offender, the deceased sex offender.

This action arrives after an extended period of opposition from the leader and his supporters in the House and Senate that divided his political supporters and caused divisions with various established backers.

Donald Trump had opposed making public the related records, calling the issue a "fabrication" and condemning those who attempted to publish the documents public, even though pledging their release on the election circuit.

Nevertheless he changed direction in the last week after it become clear the legislative chamber would approve the bill. The president commented: "There are no secrets".

The details are unknown what the justice department will make public in response to the measure – the bill specifies a variety of potential items that need to be disclosed, but provides exceptions for specific records.

The legislation calls for the attorney general to make non-classified Epstein-related records open for review "in a searchable and downloadable format", including each examination into Epstein, his colleague Maxwell, travel documentation and journey documentation, individuals cited or listed in connection with his illegal activities, institutions that were connected with his exploitation or money operations, exemption arrangements and additional legal settlements, official correspondence about prosecution choices, evidence of his imprisonment and death, and particulars about potential document destruction.

The department will have thirty days to submit the records. The measure includes certain exemptions, including redactions of confidential victim data or personal files, any representations of youth molestation, disclosures that would endanger active investigations or legal cases and depictions of death or abuse.
